Old cottage windows

We’ve started restoring an old cottage, and several of the original windows need attention without losing their traditional character. I’d like to keep the period look rather than replace everything with modern units. A neighbour mentioned heritage glazing, but I don’t know where to start. Has anyone worked with a good heritage glazing company they could recommend?

We had a similar job on an old cottage, where several panes were loose but the original timber frames were still worth preserving. Replacing everything with modern units would have changed the character, so we looked into heritage glazing instead. Heritage glazing  helped us choose glass that suited the period style and repaired the windows without making them look brand new or out of place. The finished result kept the cottage’s charm while improving security. I’d send photos first and ask what options suit your frames.
